about studio moon
Studio Moon began as a boutique yoga and Pilates studio in South East London, created by Charlie and Max from a shared love of movement, mindfulness and community. What started as a personal practice over 10 years ago gradually evolved into years of teaching, studying and holding space for others through yoga, breathwork and mindful movement.
From the very beginning, the intention behind Studio Moon was to create more than just a place to exercise. It was about creating a space where people could slow down, reconnect and feel supported — whether stepping onto the mat for strength, stillness, movement or simply a moment to breathe amongst the pace of everyday life.
Over the years, Studio Moon became known for its calm atmosphere, thoughtful teaching and welcoming community. Through Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, breathwork, meditation and sound healing, the focus was always on creating movement that felt accessible, grounding and connected to real life.
Recognised by Women’s Health as one of London’s Top 15 Yoga Studios, Studio Moon grew from a small local studio into a space that so many people described as feeling like home — somewhere they could return to consistently, without pressure or perfection.
How Studio Moon Evolved
As both the wellness industry and modern life continued to change, so did the vision for Studio Moon.
In 2026, Studio Moon transitioned fully online, allowing the community to continue beyond the walls of a physical studio and creating the freedom to share movement in a more sustainable, flexible and accessible way.
Rather than seeing this as an ending, it became the beginning of a new chapter — one that allows Studio Moon to reach people wherever they are in the world, whether practising from home, travelling, or creating moments of movement around busy modern lives.
Moving online has created space for Studio Moon to evolve into something even more expansive: an online membership built around mindful movement, ritual, consistency and connection.
Today, Studio Moon Online offers a growing library of on-demand yoga, Pilates, breathwork and meditation classes, alongside live sessions, guided programmes and seasonal challenges designed to support both body and mind.
At its core, the philosophy behind Studio Moon remains the same: movement that supports real life.
Whether it’s an energising Vinyasa flow, a grounding Hatha practice, an evening breathwork session or a few quiet moments on the mat before the day begins, Studio Moon is designed to help people reconnect to themselves in a way that feels supportive, sustainable and accessible.
Together, Charlie and Max continue to share a balanced approach to movement — blending strength and softness, flow and stillness, structure and intuition — while growing a community connected through mindful movement, wherever life takes them.

MAX
Max’s yoga journey has been deeply rooted in the slower, grounding side of practice. Completing all of his trainings in Koh Samui, Thailand, his teaching style has been shaped by island life, intentional movement and practices centred around restoration and nervous system support.
Alongside his yoga training, Max also trained in Gong Bath and sound healing, bringing elements of meditation, vibration and deep relaxation into his classes and offerings.
Known for his calm and down-to-earth approach, Max creates classes that feel welcoming, supportive and deeply grounding. Combining Hatha yoga, breath awareness and slower intentional movement, his teaching encourages students to slow down, reconnect and move in a way that feels balanced and sustainable.
Members often describe Max’s classes as calming, restorative and accessible — creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable, whether completely new to yoga or returning to practice after time away. His gong baths and sound healing sessions have become especially loved within the Studio Moon community for the sense of rest, stillness and reset they offer.
CHARLIE
Charlie first discovered yoga in her early twenties during a difficult period in her life, initially drawn to the grounding and connection the practice brought her. What began as something deeply personal gradually evolved into a passion for movement, mindfulness and sharing yoga with others.
Her journey deepened in late 2018 when she travelled to India to complete her training in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga — an experience that became a pivotal moment both personally and professionally, shaping the foundations of her teaching style and philosophy around practice.
Over the years, Charlie has been fortunate to teach within some of London’s leading studios and wellness spaces, alongside hosting her own community classes, events and collaborations.
Known for her dynamic yet grounding approach, Charlie’s classes blend intelligent sequencing, breath-led movement and moments of stillness designed to support both body and mind. Drawing inspiration from Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Mandala movement, her teaching creates practices that feel strong, fluid and deeply intentional.
Members often describe Charlie’s classes as energising yet calming — helping them feel stronger, more connected and able to return to themselves amongst the busyness of everyday life. Whether guiding a powerful flow or a slower nervous-system-focused practice, her intention is always to create movement that feels accessible, sustainable and supportive of modern life.
